Photoshoot past weekend and such

I had a great shoot with Michael of In Balance Photography. I have yet to choose my favorites and start my hand at editing the photos as I have been so busy this week working. This weekend I hope to have some sit down time to work on those images, well at least choose my favorites. Its been a while since I edited so I probably need to play around with my techniques before I like what I see. The concepts was basic fashion so nothing too complicated. Even with my limited modeling time, I hope to do some creative work again. Halloween is coming and I always like to do something with my costume for that. If I have time, I also want to continue playing around with photography myself, for now taking photos of locations and inanimate objects.

More of an update than beaty related

This week has been super busy for me and actually the next 9 months or so will be hectic as I finish school and work my second job. I hope as I am adjusted to some changes in my schedule, I can keep this blog updated as well as do some modeling. Due to time constraints I can only model 1-2 times a month, paid gigs only, and Saturdays being the best day for me. But if a good opportunity opens up, I can be flexible.

Health wise, I'm doing pretty well. Working out and eating well everyday is my goal. The weekends are open for some more flexible eating patterns with healthy selections in mind.

Beauty wise, my hair is growing fast and I need another hair cur soon. The brown is fading to a weird light brown color and so I may just dye it as well. I also need to purchase some new wardrobe for my new job. Not a ton, but some dress shirts, cardigans for the fall and winter coming, and perhaps a few pants will do. I'm sort of a jacket person, so I probably will get a few of those too.

Photoshoot Tomorrow

So I have a photoshoot with Michael of In Balance Photography. It has been a very long time since I have modeled. I believe April was when I last did a shoot. Between now and then, I was traveling. Traveling always changes me physically and this time it really impacted me. I needed to get healthy again by eating better and working out. I've been on track for about a month and feel a lot better. I know in another month or 2 I will be completely satisfied. I tend to set high standards for myself.

As for the shoot, we will be doing some fashion sort of shots. I bought a ton awesome clothes in Japan that I want to model. I'm not doing anything to extreme for the shoot as I want to get back into the groove of modeling again before doing extensive shoots. I love being creative and breaking the rules of modeling. Its what I do as you view my portfolio. But from time to time, its nice to do some simple fashion beauty type of work with funky poses and cool locations.

Anyways I look forward to the shoot. I miss modeling tons and I always enjoy working with Michael. Look out for photos soon!

Fitness and such

Well I'm still working out every day doing the same old 30 - 40 minutes of cardio. I have included other muscles groups into my routine such as triceps, and back muscles. Hope to tone up a bit here and there. I don't want to get meaty.

I'm also eating more now. I started drinking protein drinks in the morning for breakfast. In the evening after dinner, if I want a snack during the week I usually have cucumbers with some sort of dip. I also made some awesome pudding freezer pops the other day as a sweet treat. On the weekends I tend to let my cravings take over with healthy options of course. I love chips and dip, so I eat these cocopop crackers instead with salsa. Very delicious! I also love cookies so I have cereal instead. For dinner I may cook up some vegetables, have a big salad from a salad bar, eat out, or whatever. This has helped me satisfy my foody nature as I love food but don't want to be dependent on it like many Americans. I keep portions small and try to substitute with healthy options as much as I can. Glad I'm finding a diet that works with me so far.

Life and Food

I have been super busy as my boy is about to leave for LA soon. Besides that I have been busy looking for part time jobs to build up some teaching experience.

Sunday the boy and I checked out Prince Pizzeria in Saugus, MA. They have a pizza buffet there for $7.99. Its a bit of drive for me, but since my boy loves pizza we decided to check it out. I was quite satisfied with the food. They served several types of pizza constantly rotating, pasta, pasta sauce, meatballs, and garlic bread. I tried everything besides the meatballs or any of the meat topped pizzas. Everything was delicious. Being lactose intolerant, I take a Lactaid before and after I eat pizza and other dairy meals. Luckily I didn't get sick. Just felt quite full after all of that pizza and pasta. I will definitely return and I recommend this place to any pizza lover on a budget.

Another food related topic is my new love for cucumbers. I always loved cucumbers especially pickled but the acidity sometimes makes me sick. So I started buying fresh cucumbers and cutting them up in sticks and/or slices. I dip them in hot sauce, honey mustard, onion veggie dip or soy sauce with wasabi. Its a super healthy filling snack and quite affordable. As I eat them, I try to think of new dips or ways of eating them. I might try other veggies such as zucchini.

Go with the flow...

One of my personal philosophies and I'm sure many others share it with me, is to live life as it comes. In the past I had so many high expectations and most of the time I ended up feeling disappointed. It became a vicious cycle and it was starting to make me feel depressed. So eventually I learned to just go with the flow. I have future goals and dreams but I don't expect them to become a reality. I just do what I do each day and take on the events of my life as they come. I do not rely on any promises or scheduled good events to come until they actually happen. I find living this manner prevents a lot of stress and disappointment. Of course living this way is challenging and sometimes I slip up. But for the most part, I can control any high expectations I may have.

Fatigue but still going

My muscles do not get as sore as much from all the working out. I take it easy some days on the cardio and move at a slower pace. But I do notice my energy levels are pretty low and I feel very sleepy. Its hard for me to even wake up. I use to wake up 4, 4:30 in the morning no problem but now I wake up around 5:30, 6. Last week I slept in til 9 at the earliest. I guess I need the rest on my week off but I like to start the day early to have more time for fun later. But since I don't have any funds for fun, it worked out in the end.

I started increasing the number of meals I eat a day and my digestive system has been behaving for the most part. Hopefully when I begin to eat even more, my energy levels will increase and I will feel less tired. Eventually I hope to work out in the mornings during the week on some days like I use to. Its refreshing and starts off the day with a healthy touch. But for now I can only fit in double sessions on the weekends when I have more flexibility.
